"Sugar Bones" — the name says it all. "We like to put a sweet, funny twist on the heavy, dark things that happen in our lives," says vocalist Corrin Cruz. "I grew up around struggle, and it's important to be able to look back and laugh about it rather than let it drag you down." That tension — is the band's whole identity, delivered through infectious funk rhythms, disco-tinged rock, and Cruz's powerful, story-driven vocals.
The band is built around Corrin Cruz (vocals), Trevor Sellman (drums), Tony Borrego (guitar), and Ragav Venkatesan (bass) — a lineup that brings diverse musical roots into one sound.
Since forming in Seattle in 2023, Sugar Bones has played close to 40 shows across the Pacific Northwest — including venues such as Chop Suey, Barboza, Sunset Tavern, Tractor Tavern, and Central Saloon. The band has shared bills with local legends and touring acts alike. Sugar Bones has also stepped onto bigger stages, performing at the Bite of Seattle Festival and Britt Festival in Jacksonville, OR — and was selected as the featured live performer for KING 5's "New Year's at the Needle," broadcast from atop the Space Needle to the entire Seattle television market going into 2025.
Sugar Bones' first albume ‘Make Me Bad’ earned national attention on college and community radio, landing chart adds at stations across the country — from KUSF in San Francisco to WRTC in Hartford, WGBK in Chicago, and beyond. The band has been featured by KING 5 News and FOX 13 Seattle, and continues to build relationships with tastemaker outlets including KEXP's Audioasis.
Now writing and recording a new set of songs, Sugar Bones is entering its next chapter — same sweet-and-dark spirit, sharper songwriting, and a live show built for bigger rooms.
